WHO WE ARE
LightGraphix specialises in designing and manufacturing lighting for architectural, marine, and display use. Many of our products have been developed specifically for use on yachts, both internally and externally. Our marine fittings are designed with shallow recess depths, high IP ratings, and watertight fixing methods, and as such we are trusted by many of the worlds leading boat yards.
With over four decades of experience in the lighting and yacht industry, LightGraphix has built a reputation for high-quality, well-made, and innovative products, backed by efficient and reliable customer service. We work with some of the top lighting and yacht designers worldwide and have developed numerous products in consultation with them.
All our products are manufactured in the UK, ensuring quality, flexibility in delivery, and production of custom lengths. As a company, we acknowledge that responsibility for the environment is essential to long-term, sustainable success.
OUR PRODUCT DNA
Lighting doesn't just determine the brightness and darkness of a space; it elevates it. More than just mere functionality for superyachts, lighting sets the onboard ambience, shaping its unique spaces. With our experience, we understand the importance of lighting in the yachting sector and have built a solid reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative products that all adhere to what we call our product DNA. Products are designed to have the best lit effect, beam quality, and glare control, while also being built sustainably, and to last in the harshest environments. Each section of our DNA is detailed below.
SUPERIOR BEAM QUALITY
Achieving the perfect beam angle and colour consistency is at the core of our product design, enabling designers to create the best lit effect across a project. Using our in-house testing facilities, we investigate the best LED and optic combinations and use highly efficient optics for maximum output and a superior beam shape.
INDUSTRY LEADING GLARE CONTROL
Optional glare shields are available for all our products, removing unwanted glare that can detract from the look and feel of a space. As well as various tilt lenses and deep recesses, physical tilts also feature in some of our uplights and downlights. For surface mounted products, all adjustability is lockable, keeping beams away from the line of sight.
INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
LightGraphix is highly regarded for its expert engineering and high-performance output. We have developed advanced solutions to common lighting problems, such as our anti-wicking barrier for water ingress protection, or our sustainable Replaceable Light Engine system. There are IP65, IP66, IP67, and IP68-rated products across our range, all of which are tested in an ambience of -20° to 50°.
ANTI-WICKING BARRIER
Our innovative anti-wicking barrier provides an additional level of protection against water ingress by stopping water from reaching the inner components of the fittings. One of the leading causes of water ingress failure on LED fittings is due to incorrect IP-rated connections made on-site between the electricity supply and luminaire. This barrier has significantly reduced the risk of failure since 2013.
2-CHANNEL RED NAVIGATION CIRCUIT
We have developed a unique, custom 2-channel LED board that includes both white LEDs and a red LED chip, specifically designed for safe sailing during the night. This feature allows the LD73SR and LD74SR fittings to have dual capabilities - to remain bright during the day, and when switched to red, not interfere with the helm’s nighttime vision.
HIGHLY CONFIGURABLE PRODUCTS
We have created an extensive range of products with multiple LED engine types, finishes, beam angles, colour temperatures and accessories to enable designers to achieve their exact lighting requirements for each interior and exterior project style.
HIGH-QUALITY MATERIALS
Using our four decades of experience in the marine industry, we understand the importance of using high-grade materials. These materials are chosen to work in the toughest environments: extreme heat and cold, salt and chlorine, water and sun. Metal components are machined rather than cast to ensure the highest quality, and are also selected for their excellent thermal performance.
MARINE-GRADE FINISHES
We have a range of solid machined finishes suitable for yacht interior and exterior use. Our marine-grade polished stainless steel creates a pristine mirror-like finish using the additional step of lapping the already smooth bezel in a diamond liquid mixture to entirely remove any machine markings. We complete all our painting in-house and can colour match to any sample provided. Chrome, nickel and copper plating is also possible.
PASSIVATION PROTECTION
We understand the corrosive power of the sea, which is why we add passivation protection to our polished fittings for ultimate longevity, although 316 stainless steel alone is still highly resistant to corrosion. Passivation forms a protective chemical oxide layer after removing iron from the metal’s surface, improving corrosion resistance.
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS
Our dedicated custom design team have created hundreds of bespoke solutions and modifications of existing products to match the exact requirements of clients and designers. This includes designing custom products to be retrofitted into existing recesses, used frequently by our refit customers. Rapid prototyping and 3D printing help the team to produce solutions quickly.
SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING
We are committed to a world where lighting innovation and experience combine responsibly to enhance the visual environment. As well as our environmental policy, we have created circular lighting solutions and have been repairing and upgrading fittings since 1979. All in-house manufacturing is completed at our UK facilities in Greater London, and we provide recyclable packing where possible. See some of our initiatives below.
Our Replaceable Light Engine, or "RLE", system is an initiative that allows customers to repair and upgrade their LED engines at any stage of their lifespan, while enabling the reuse of fittings, from anywhere in the world. It was developed to offer designers and end users the ability to repair and change the specifications of an exterior-rated product with the least amount of waste. The system involves a single, modular LED engine insert that includes the LED and optic, allowing replacements or upgrades to be done easily whilst the yacht is at sea with a simple tool. RLE eliminates the need to send the fitting back to us for repairs.
We have been repairing and upgrading products since 1979. Products that are not supported by our RLE system can be repaired in-house under our Repair and Refurbish scheme. This includes removing small artificial defects from bezels, repainting and repolishing of bezels and surface-mounted products, and LED engine repair where possible.
We are partnered with the leading carbon offsetting provider Ecologi, a carbon emission offsetting platform offering businesses the opportunity to sponsor a range of certified reforestation, renewable energy installation and welfare projects all around the world.
